Habari Wi-Fi Secures Second Place in Regional Best ISP Category at TEHAMA Awards 2026

Regional Best ISP Category

Regional Best ISP Category.Habari Wi-Fi is proud to have secured second place in the Regional Internet Service Provider (ISP) category at the TEHAMA Awards 2026, held on Sunday, August 9, at Johari Rotana in Dar es Salaam.

The Tanzania ICT Industry Excellence Awards (TEHAMA Awards) recognize organizations and individuals contributing to the growth and development of Tanzania’s information and communications technology sector. The awards bring together players across the ICT industry to recognize innovation, service delivery, and contributions to the country’s digital development.

For Habari, the recognition comes as the company continues to expand its connectivity services and technology solutions across Tanzania, serving homes, businesses and communities in different parts of the country.

Habari currently has coverage in Shinyanga (Kahama), Mbeya, Iringa, Dodoma, Manyara (Babati), Arusha, Kilimanjaro (Moshi), Mara (Tarime and Musoma), Singida, Mwanza, Morogoro and Dar es Salaam.

For the Habari team, the award recognizes the work that goes into keeping customers connected, from building and maintaining networks to supporting customers and providing technology services that businesses and organizations can use in their day-to-day work.

Habari provides internet services for homes and businesses, but its work goes beyond connectivity. The company also provides domain registration, web hosting, website services, cloud solutions, software and other ICT services, giving customers access to different technology solutions under one roof.

For businesses, these services support the work that happens online every day, from communicating with customers and promoting products to managing websites and maintaining an online presence.

This approach reflects Habari’s focus on making technology more accessible and useful to the people and businesses it serves.

Habari’s recent activities also show how the company is using its position in the technology sector to support learning and digital skills development.

In July 2026, Habari hosted students and facilitators from Success Hands Tanzania Initiative through the TechMafunzo programme. The students were introduced to areas including coding, website development, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital marketing, data analysis, and entrepreneurship.

Habari also supported the Tanzania National Debate Championship 2026, providing broadband connectivity during the championship. The connection enabled participants to access information and research resources as they took part in the competition.

For Habari, initiatives such as these show what connectivity can make possible when people have access to the right tools and resources.

Businesses are also a key part of Habari’s work. A business may need reliable internet to communicate with customers and manage its daily operations, while a website, domain, and hosting can help it establish and maintain an online presence.

Through its connectivity and ICT services, Habari supports businesses at different stages of their digital journey. This is particularly relevant for MSMEs, which are increasingly using digital platforms to reach customers, market their products, communicate with clients, and manage their businesses.

For Habari, the focus is not only on connecting more customers, but also on helping them make use of the opportunities that connectivity provides.

Another recognition in 2026

The TEHAMA Awards recognition adds to a year of recognition for Habari. In June 2026, the company was named Internet Service Provider Company of the Year at the Africa Company of the Year Awards (ACOYA). The recognition at TEHAMA adds to this momentum as Habari continues to grow its reach and strengthen the services it provides to customers across Tanzania.

“We are proud of this recognition and grateful to our customers and the entire Habari team. Coming second in the Regional ISP category reflects the work that goes into keeping homes, businesses and communities connected. We will continue improving our services, expanding our reach and providing technology solutions that help our customers make the most of being connected.”  Simon Lee, General Manager, Habari Wi-Fi says.

Looking ahead.

Habari plans to keep expanding its connectivity reach, improving customer experience and strengthening the technology services available to homes, businesses and organizations. The company will also continue supporting initiatives that give young people exposure to technology and digital skills.

As more people and businesses use digital tools for learning, communication, and work, Habari will continue working to provide the connectivity and technology services they need.

For Habari, the TEHAMA awards is a recognition of the work already being done and motivation to keep improving the services and opportunities available to its customers.
